Student Support and Special Education
Bayview Fairways P. S. is committed to providing students with the most appropriate educational opportunity. For students with special needs there are a range of options. We believe that children should remain with their classmates and receive support from a special education teacher or educational assistant whenever possible. For some children who require more targeted assistance there is a student support centre that welcomes small groups of children.
The special education team is there to assist teachers and parents in helping all students learn, including those students whose abilities make it difficult for them to achieve their grade-level expectations.
The special education team consists of:
Ms. V. Tang: Special Education Resource Teacher (grades 1-3)
Mrs. R. Silber: Special Education Resource Teacher (grades 4-6)
Mr. A. Silverberg: Special Education Resource Teacher (grades 7,8)
Mrs. M. Hoover: Reading Recovery Teacher
